Announcement: The Daylight Award 2024 laureates

On the UNESCO’s International Day of Light – 16 May 2024 at 18:00 (CEST) in Copenhagen, Denmark – The Daylight Award will announce the 2024 Laureates for Daylight Research and Daylight in Architecture. The ceremony will be livestreamed to a global audience.

In memoriam – Jaime Duró Pifarré

Born in 1944 in Lleida, Spain, Jaime Duró Pifarré graduated from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Barcelona (1972) and founded his own practice, Duró Arquitectura e Ingeniería, based in Barcelona and Madrid.

Daylight Talk by Liene Jākobsone – Light, Views, Transparencies

The 2024 Daylight Talk series kicks off with ‘Light, Views, Transparencies’ by Liene Jākobsone in collaboration with the Art Academy of Latvia.

Discussing some of the practice’s projects, the lecture will reveal a significant part of the conceptual approach of Sampling: the exploration of how architecture unfolds in the eyes of its inhabitants and what unexpected and unusual experiences it can offer.
