Highlighting Outstanding Mexican Women Architects
The Federación de Colegios de Arquitectos de la República Mexicana (FCARM) proudly recognizes the achievements of three exceptional women architects, each awarded a Silver Medal for their contributions to sustainable, public, and architectural design.
Vanessa Padilla Mena
Award: Silver Medal
Project: Estudio Flotante RM
Designed as a floating refuge seamlessly integrated into its natural surroundings, Estudio Flotante RM emerges as a harmonious blend of concrete, steel, and wood. The design embraces a century-old ash tree, using inclined columns that dissolve into the dense vegetation, minimizing the structure’s visual impact and creating an organic architectural expression.
Georgina Salazar Solís
Award: Silver Medal
Project: Parque La Plancha – Lighting Design
Inspired by the site’s historical identity as a railway station, the lighting design for Parque La Plancha creates a harmonious blend of landscape and architecture. The project incorporates custom-designed LED fixtures that honour the Mayan heritage and provide visual comfort, energy efficiency, and sustainability.
