Celebrating Women in Building Culture: The 2024 anoTHERVIEWture Award Winners

The 2024 anoTHERVIEWture Award ceremony, held on 24 October 2024 at Vienna’s prestigious Museum of Applied Arts (MAK) and organised by the Austrian Federal Chamber of Architects and Chartered Engineers (BKZT), brought together professionals from around the world to celebrate the outstanding achievements of women in the fields of architecture and engineering. The event marked the second year of the biennial award, which recognises women’s outstanding contributions to building culture and aims to foster greater equality and diversity in the built environment.

Organised by the Austrian Federal Chamber,  the anoTHERVIEWture Award serves not only as a platform to showcase the transformative work of female architects and engineers but also as a call to action to raise awareness of their vital contributions to these industries. By honouring role models who inspire change, the award strives to challenge traditional gender dynamics and promote a more inclusive future for the profession.

The winners of the 2024 edition were celebrated across four categories:

Female Architect of the Year: Susanne Veit-Aschenbrenner

Emerging Female Architect of the Year: Eva Maria Hierzer

National/International Engineering Achievement of the Year: Johanna Arnold

International Female Architect of the Year: Miyuki Inoue

Each of these awardees was recognised for their groundbreaking work, which has made a significant impact both nationally and internationally. Their dedication to excellence in design and engineering continues to shape the future of building culture, offering fresh perspectives and solutions that influence the built environment across borders.
