The UIA Spanish Member Section Consejo Superior de los Colegios de Arquitectos de España (CSCAE) and the Spanish Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda have launched the first global housing atlas.
Access and use is free.
The housing platform will integrate all the housing data that exists in the world, on the website www.affordablehousingactivation.org. It brings together data from sources such as the World Bank, the World Health Organization (WHO), the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD ) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), to offer an intersectoral perspective and the reality of housing in addition to opening up opportunities to promote public-private collaboration.
UIA International Forum 2022 Affordable Housing Activation: Removing Barriers was a world meeting co-organised by the CSCAE, the International Union of Architects (UIA), the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, the Madrid City Council and the Official College of Architects of Madrid (COAM), with the support of UN-Habitat , the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Community of Madrid.
Between March and May 2022, the Forum mobilised more than 7,500 professionals from 125 countries to analyse the barriers that hinder or prevent access to decent, adequate and affordable housing and contribute solutions in the medium and long term in accordance with the recommendations of the 2030 Agenda and the New Urban Agenda.
