As architects, we hold responsibility in shaping the environments where people live, work, and play. In alignment with the 2024 World Environment Day theme—”Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience”—we commit to share our expertise in planning and urban design to bring nature back to our cities.

The UIA Council met in Tunis, Tunisia on 20-21 May 2024. Hosted by the Ordre des Architectes de Tunisie, the Council deliberated on matters regarding the Union and received the reports of its Commissions.

Papers are invited for ArquiMemória 6, a forum focussing on the preservation of built heritage in Brazil. It will take place in Salvador, Bahia on 5-8 November 2024.

The laureates of the Daylight Award 2024 are Spanish architect and professor Alberto Campo Baeza (Daylight in Architecture) and German professor of chronobiology Till Roenneberg (Daylight in Research).
