The challenges humanity faces today are numerous and complex. In many parts of the globe, we are confronted with architecturally uncontrolled urbanisation, informal settlements but also with newly built cities that lack a true sense of heart.

The Twelfth Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF12), convened by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), is taking place in Cairo, Egypt, from 4 to 8 November 2024. The UIA is present at WUF with a delegation led by Secretary General Rui Leao and is participating in several events to showcase the role of architecture in shaping sustainable urban futures.
