Reminder – UIA Young Architects’ Competition Deadline

04/03/2025

The deadline for submissions to the UIA Young Architects’ Competition is approaching, and young architects are encouraged to finalise and submit their projects before the closing date on Friday, 7 March 2025, at 5 p.m. (Paris time).

To register and submit your project, visit the competition platform before the deadline.

This competition, in line with UN-Habitat’s World Architecture Day 2025 theme, “Empowering the Next Generation in Participatory Urban Design,” highlights the role of young architects in shaping the urban environments of the future. It is an opportunity to present innovative ideas, contribute to global discussions on urban planning, and gain international recognition.

The results will be evaluated by an international jury, and the winners will be announced at an awards ceremony held at Palazzo Zorzi – the UNESCO Regional Bureau for Science and Culture in Europe, in Venice. Their work will also be displayed in an exhibition at the commencement of the Biennale Architettura 2025, from 8 to 15 May.

This initiative provides young architects with a unique opportunity to contribute to one of the world’s most prestigious cultural events – the Biennale di Venezia. Through their participation, the next generation can demonstrate their vision for enhancing the experience of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, reinforcing the importance of architecture in preserving and enriching cultural heritage.
