How can “intelligent city planning” promote the good life?

Design for Health is about how “intelligent city planning” can help to promote “the good life”, support a healthy life style and the “whole person”, reduce loneliness, improve security, focus on gender, age, ethnicity, etc. A new understanding of the impact of sports and leisure-related architecture and urban design can reveal unexplored economic opportunities and design’s capacity to define the city of the future, amplifying the breadth of legacy to be achieved by these spaces. We are proud to present two very knowledgeable and exciting lecturers in these areas:

The Chief City Architect for the City of Copenhagen, Camilla van Deurs, will describe how Copenhagen strives to turn into a world city on the move, where sports and exercise create quality of life, well-being and development for all citizens and the city as a whole.

Professor at Tokyo Tech, Yoshiharu Tsukamoto, and co-founder of Tokyo based architecture firm, Atelier Bow-Wow, will envision how better access to local resources and how architectural design can challenge barriers in society and encourage people to become resourceful people instead of human resources.

Moderator of the session will be René Kural, PhD, Director of the UIA Work Program Sports and Leisure.
