Theme and objectives
The MOLEWA project is initiated as an imaginative solution to a significant socioeconomic problem in China meaning urban development. MOLEWA is part of an ambitious project founded on the above notion and a pioneer in exploring not only how ” new urbanization” can be achieved but also how it can realize adjunct values such as promoting cultural tourism and architectural innovation.
The MOLEWA project seeks to achieve tangible results in the following value points :
- A practical way to new urbanization which focuses on the maximization of happiness and sustainability, and defines a new path of socioeconomic development ;
- A permanent exhibition and celebration of world architecture as a tourist attraction ;
- A conduit for architectural innovation, particularly in sustainable design ;
- A platform for architectural students in China to propose daring and unconventional ideas and achieve worldwide exposure ;
The MOLEWA Competition will be a single stage project competition as defined by the UIA Guide for International Competitions in Architecture and Town Planning.

Eligibility
Competitors for the professional project must be registered to or recognized by the relevant professional body of the state country of their business. In case of a joint submission, the lead architect should be identified and comply with the above.
The student project competition is limited to students of Chinese nationality who must have active student status recognized by the Architectural Society of China (ASC) through its Institute of Accredited Schools of Architecture. In case of joint submissions, the lead student must be identified and comply with the above.
