The VELUX company announces the 2008 edition of the biennial international award, created in 2004, for students of architecture all over the world. This Award is organised in collaboration with the European Association for Architectural Education (EAAE) and the International Union of Architects (UIA).
With this Award, on the theme: “Light of Tomorrow”, VELUX seeks to foster an open-minded dialogue on daylight in its widest sense. While there are no specific categories, entries may focus on: sunlight as a natural source of lighting and energy; daylight’s contribution to visual quality and comfort in interior living spaces; rethinking daylight in urban living contexts; the importance of sunlight and daylight in sustainable architecture in harmony with the rhythms of nature; more abstract concepts like daylight versus artificial light, day versus night, in versus out.
